Homesteading, Organic Gardening, How to Farm, Preparedness, Self-Reliance
This past week the real estate agent called and asked if we were still interested in the 70 acres we had tried to buy back in March. He knows we are because we had emailed that to him in May and told him we thought we would have our 20% down payment in August.
The real reason he was calling was to tell us he had another interested buyer. I was bummed at first but then remembered that we had been praying all along that if it was God's will for us to get this particular piece of property it would happen, and if it wasn't, then we didn't want it anyway.
My son got busy and found 3 more pieces for us to go look at, one of which we are really interested in. It is 218 acres with an old farmhouse that they have restored and a barn. It is about 20 minutes further than the 70 acres we had tried to purchase.
We go to see it Saturday and I'm so excited. I literally could go walk on land every weekend and dream the dream. Sometimes we know as soon as we drive on the property that is not the one for us, but there is always the anticipation that it will be the perfect place. At least the house appears liveable which is a far cry from the house on the 70 acres.
Back to the 70 acres, the real estate agent called later that day and said the buyer backed out. So the 70 acre place is still in the picture for now. In the meantime, we will continue looking at other places as well.
