April 4th - planted 1/3 of the new strawberry bed; peppers and eggplants into newspaper pots inside.
April 5th - snowflakes again this morning, hail this afternoon.
April 6th - Garlic is sprouting! Tomato bed built.
Comment by Tina on April 23, 2012 at 10:08am You do a bed of just tomatoes? Does that help them flourish?
Comment by Fern's Garden on April 23, 2012 at 3:41pm It actually has peppers and eggplants in it too. I don't know how it will do - this is my first year gardening. My reasoning was to keep all of that family of plants together so that I can easily rotate through my beds next year.
I am hoping to try saving a few seeds this year too, so I also have a few tomatoes in side beds to separate them and, hopefully, prevent cross-pollination. One of those beds also has carrots and the other has my onions.
I'll let you know if there is any difference between the different plantings.
Comment by Tina on May 8, 2012 at 9:36am That was my plan as well. The tomato, eggplant, pepper trio. This too is my first year seriously gardening. I know it will be interesting to say the least.
May the garden Faeries bless your venture!
