I have just finished a glass of apple cider, sitting on the back deck of our new dream.  We sat in silence for a bit listening.  All we could hear were birds.  Closing my eyes now I can still here them.

We signed the final papers for our dream farm.  A relatively new house sitting on 21 acres of recently timbered land.  We started the first steps today by changing all the locks and pulling out the carpets.  It was two hours of knee braking (carpets hurt).  We had some wonderful friends there to help, more for moral support than physical labor.  With them we got to outline the rest of our dreams, pointing off in locations and saying,

"Well plant some fruit trees over there."

"Build the chicken coop this year and get the chickens sometime January or February."

"We're still deciding goat types.  Not sure if we want some dwarf goats or Toggenburgs."

"What do you think about emus?"

So many possibilities and a whole life to figure them out.  We have already decided a few things.

1) We finish the house.   It's not too much work, but carpets and paint need to be done before we start moving in our stuff.

2) Unpack.  This is for my husband and I who have a bad procrastination problem with unpacking.  We feel putting a punishment of not starting our dreams of farming will assists us with unpacking quicker.

3)Yard around house.  Just need to tame the jungle that has grown without people there.  There's a mulberry bush that thinks it owns the front porch and I disagree.

4)Start getting a garden going.  I know we're a bit late for spring planting, but we live warm enough taht we should be able to get something going.  So we're going to give it a hot.

Till then we are taking one day at a time.  Waking up, spending a little time getting the house ready.  Then heading off to work, sleep then rinse and repeat.  I suppose well fit showers and food in there somewhere.
