Welcome to Suwanee Creek Family Farm

About Us

We are a small hobby farm sitting on 12 beautiful acres, with 6 precious homeschooled children who fill our barn and home with laughter (and crying).  We currently keep a happy flock of 80 free range chickens, too many lucky roosters, 7 chattering ducks and manage a rabbitry of heritage breed Beveren and American Chinchilla meat rabbits. The farm is also home to our dutiful Australian Shepherd, one stinker of a Golden puppy, and a grumpy old mutt - who all love to chase the most excellent barn/lap cat in the world. We grow all of our food in the garden w/o the use of chemicals and use the manure from our rabbits and chickens to kick the garden up a knotch.

Having a farm is extremely hard work. But it is the most rewarding work in the world.

"Fantastic signs!  Esp. the part about "performing" animals. Chickens have been a natural introduction to my children as to how life begins. Of course this always leads to discussion about "Does Mommy lay an egg?"."

Fields of Buttercups

"Susan, We didn't do anything.   When the previous owner moved out with her horses, the pasture grew in and was untouched except for grazing deer.  The growth of the grasses choked out the buttercups' chances to flourish.  I…"

"I am enjoying your photo album. We aren't too far from you. I think ducks eggs are one of the best kept secrets in the kitchen.  Had I known what prolific layers they were before I started chickens I might have started with ducks first. We…"
