Is using a certified kitchen required in GA (farmers markets)

It looks like my local farmers market in Georgia requires that all food items be cooked/prepared in a certified kitchen. Is this a state requirement, or is it up to each individual market? If it is a…Continue

My family has about 100 acres of land in middle Georgia. It is a mix of woods and open land with a pond and well for irrigation. We used to lease it to a guy who grew cotton and peanuts, but have not…Continue

"Yes and no. Much of that depends on the particular market.  If that market is run by a non-profit organization, then you are subject to certain exceptions under the Georgia Food Law.   If that's the case, you can sell fresh produce,…"

It looks like my local farmers market in Georgia requires that all food items be cooked/prepared in a certified kitchen. Is this a state requirement, or is it up to each individual market? If it is a state requirement, is there any way around it? I was thinking about trying to sell some baked goods and crafts this summer, but access to a certified kitchen will likely be a problem. Thanks for your time.See More

Ideas for best use of 65 acres

Hello! Just looking for some ideas on how best to utilize 65 acres in a warm climate (southeast). 15 of these acres are wooded and the rest are not being used for anything. If any of you have a few minutes, I would love to hear your ideas for how to make this amount of land productive and ideally generate some income. (i.e. plant fruit trees, large garden, chickens, cows, goats, etc.) We will assume that starting a CSA is possible. Thanks so much for your time. JimSee More
