It’s been a crazy week in Memphis. 80's all week, then some crazy rain today. But it’s about 5pm and things have cleared. I just got home to walk through one of my gardens and here’s what I found:

I should have a bee post right now. The weather is incredible here in Memphis (mid-70′s today) and I should have gone out to the bees this week, but time just wouldn’t allow. So in lieu of a spring Memphis beekeeping update, I’ll give you a quick update on the kits (rabbits).

To say it’s been a weird winter in Memphis so far would be an understatement. Last week we had consistent days over 60 degrees, and the week before was solid 50′s. Today it’s 43 degrees, and we’re expecting it to dip down in the 20′s.
Since the temp was so high on Friday (65), I decided it was a great excuse…

I have Italians here in Durham, NC. My bees are feeding outside almost daily, three types of pollen coming in. I checked the honey stores last week on my hive and found maybe 5-10 pounds used since fall when I last looked. Pretty amazing. Setting up hive teo April 14th.
