Summer day returning to our farm

My wife took this picture of our farm returning after a busy week in the city.

Looks lovely!

Thanks Delanie, it really is a pretty place, of course I usually see a photo like that and think...hmm, those barn roofs could use a lick of paint... and the one on the right seems to be sagging too much and I'd better plan to work on the road this year...etc etc, lol. But every now and then you have to stop, smell the coffee and say to yourself, darn it, all that scraping and saving, searching and hard work to get this place was worth it. :-)

Your farm is beautiful!

Thanks very much Jody - I think your place is a beauty too, I'm a sucker for water and azaleas !

What really makes our place is the additional two bedroom cottage, hidden behind the horse barn. That means we can accomodate all three of our kids and their future familys for Christmas's and Thanksgivings. The farm is part of a grand plan to build holiday traditions and ensnare future grandkids to make wonderful summer memories.

I hope you achieve that. My husband had bought the original 20 acres of our farm when still in high school from his grandfather's estate. We were able to get the additional 33 acres with helpf rom a real etate friend.  We have been married 28 years and were finally able to build our house about 14 years ago. We sell hay and will be planting heirloom vegetables and cut flowers this summer. We have had a wedding here and a reception is scheduled for April and our daughter wants her wedding reception here next May. We hope to expand on that.
