This might be a stupid question but.....When do you start this? I love this idea and would like to adopt it! Do you do this inside where it is warm? do you just transplant it when it is planting time?

Love that starting box!!!!

Depending on what you are planning to grow, it's best to start seeds 3- 8 weeks before you are ready to plant or your last frost date.  I live in South Florida so I don't have to worry about frost.  I worry about crazy hot weather.  I just started a few herbs this afternoon.

This was last Spring's start box.  I started these mid April in the house with a sheet of plastic over the top until they sprouted.  Then, i hardened them off out on my deck when it warmed during the day.  That box was nice, but it was way too big for my liking.  Thanks guys!

Neat idea! How big is each box?

This box is probably 2 ft x 3 ft.  Each little compartment will hold about 3 cups of dirt.  I'm guessing.

Hi, just sent you a friend request, sorry about that, I was trying to comment and am new to this system.  I like your seedling box.  Do you just slip it up over and the form is maintained when they are ready for transplanting?  Very cool!

Great idea. Thanks! I learn something new everyday.

Very nice.

Yes, Ryan.  I just cover it with plastic.  I just scoop out the plant and put in to the ground.
