These large eggs are in the ducks' nest box. I love my Khaki Campbell ducks because they lay daily for 10 months out of the year or more.

Comment by Mrs. Knucker Hatch on December 9, 2011 at 11:06pm I am enjoying your photo album. We aren't too far from you. I think ducks eggs are one of the best kept secrets in the kitchen. Had I known what prolific layers they were before I started chickens I might have started with ducks first. We don't have any Khaki, but have Blue Swedish, Runners and a Pekin - they are egg laying power houses. Lots of homemade angel foods in our house.
Comment by Cathy R. Payne on December 10, 2011 at 6:19am I love ducks! They were our first livestock on the farm. Are you in Georgia or SC?
Comment by Mrs. Knucker Hatch on December 10, 2011 at 9:34am We are in a NE suburb of Atlanta, GA. I would love to talk to you more about your meat rabbits, as this is the direction I would like to start heading at the beginning of next year. I raised rabbits eons ago in high school and college (not for meat), but as a homesteader looking to branch out, rabbits sound like an ideal on many levels. I miss them dearly!
