Hi Bob well this is the second year about the squash at least I got one cutting from it. I have the rest of the garden, never really tried the dark beer. Is it sweeter because of the darkness? We have rain here this morning a good thing for the garden. Sure did enjoy the kale and spinach before it disappeared          Ellen

Hey Ellen, some times the darker beer is a little sweeter, much heavier fuller body.  We still are getting plenty of lettuce, radishes etc. Snow peas are plentiful right now, onions and we are having to harvest lots of garlic.  We planted the garlic last fall and it has turned out wonderful.  Beans will be here soon and cucumbers are doing great, just wish those tomatoes would turn red.  Will post some new photos soon.

Hi Bob we don't have any red tomato's either plenty of green ones. We are getting plenty of green beans which is a good thing, all of our lettuce is gone along with spinach and kale. Hopefully we should be able to dig potato's soon but the green beans are doing great             Ellen

Hi Bob we got 2 gallons of blue berry's last night made a cobbler and froze the rest, along with 6 more quarts of green beans we just love green beans. That is what all the grand kids love, that is our one mouser in the middle of the garden  Ellen

Ok Ellen now you got me jealous, our blue berries are at least two weeks off.  Beans ok I'll give ya the beans but the blue berries makes me think your cheating.  If we are ever down your way or you come to the mountains you owe me some home made brownies for cheating.

Hi Bob the blueberry bushes were here when we move here two years ago, the first year we didn't get any but this year it is hard to keep up. I made a blueberry cobbler yesterday and froze the rest have 4 gallons in the freezer, here they are early spring. First picture they are behind the grapes, see the berry's on them?    Ellen

Very nice.....we have 7 bushes that are 12 years old and 8 that are 20 years old, the oldest planted by the first owner and the others by us.  We protect all the bushes from threat of frost each year and continually harvest around 25 to 30 gallons each year.  We love them and make blue berry jam and syrup each year and freeze plenty for toppings on cereal and for making smoothies.  With just Susan and I each crop carries us into the new year.  I must say they are our favorite.  I am now rooting from cuttings and intend to spread them about even more.  Its a great time of the year don't you think...

Hi Bob yeah it is a great time of the year every thing is growing and flowering. I think these two bushes are a cross of blue berry's and something else just don't know what. The second picture was taken in early March of this year just after the big new garden area was tilled. The top picture was taken just a week ago berry's every where and the watermelons growing under the new grape arbor. This is my new squash bed lost the other one to squash bore, I hoping for some squash from these two beds    Ellen
