Homesteading, Organic Gardening, How to Farm, Preparedness, Self-Reliance

So I posted about this in the prepping section as well but thought it might fit better here.
When I am looking at land would I be able to do soil and ground water testing before buying.
I am assuming that ground water would be easy if there is already a well- but if not how would I test that?
Also if anyone has any suggestions on soil and water testing kits that would be great!
Thank you

My mother-n-law had to have their well water tested because she was trying to refinance her house. I'm not sure who they called exactly. I would start with the water district that serves the area around the land.
