Anybody looking for a Canadian proprety on the East coast?

Property for sale, would make a great hobby farm.
Rural New Brunswick(Eastern Canada) Village of Cap Pele, next to Shediac.
The charms of the Straight of Northumberland gives it a really nice beach just 1 km from the house. 10 minutes walk puts you on the beach.Kelp compost possibilities.
A house of a story and a half with 2 bedrooms downstairs and a loft and an extra room upstairs.
Small shed and potting shed at the back could be turned into chicken coop and such.
Some small fruit trees already and a parcel already been prepped and grown in organically. Great place for Bees also.
Our own well and sewage connected to the village of Cap Pele. Almost 2 acres.
30 min from Moncton and less then an hour from Prince Eduard Island
Asking $145 000.00 contact me at jacques_lanteigne@hotmail.com for details and more pics.

Jacques, it looks like a lovely spot. I know a couple who've started farming probably relatively close to you - on the road towards Dieppe (north of Moncton). They're from California and BC (heavily involved in organic farming in both places) - loving it in NB and making a go of it. And the property prices don't hurt either. What a glorious beach!

It is a dream spot, farming is a way of life in the area and the Straight of Northumberland is creating a  warmer climate. the land is really fertile.I have started my own off grid farm in the North east of the province. My partner and I split up 2 years ago and are ready to settle in our own spots. to check on Google map, the address is 2290 chemin Acadie, Cap Pele, NB.

Anyone live in BC? we are looking to buy animals (goats, pigs, chicks, etc.) We would like to buy from a farm instead of the auction ... any ideas?

Comment by Heather S on April 29, 2012 at 9:19am

Depending on what you want to buy - if interested in rare/heritage breed stuff for example, you can have a look on the Rare Breeds Canada website and see breeders for various farm animals and where they're based. If more motivated to just buy local to you you could ask at a farm feed store, out east the Co-op feed store have a bulletin board and there's always notices on their notice board from people selling different animals. Good luck!

No problem, will be good to compare our experiences once we get settled in NS later in the summer and are trying to get stock too.

Does anyone know of heritage pig breeders in the east? I'm hoping to get a couple of weaners in late July, ideally Tamworths or Tam crosses but would consider others.

Hi everyone! My husband and I are new Farm Dreamers. Currently prepping our land in southern Ontario for a few pigs and some ducks. Just looking to say Hi! for now, I'm sure we will have many questions in the coming months.

Hi Samantha - how exciting! We are about to be in the same level of excitement as we finally move to our place in Nova Scotia this Saturday (from England)! So - life is manic at the moment.. but just wanted to say hi and that I look forward to sharing many of our experiences, good and bad, lol.
