Who Do You Buy From?
This is a survey to understand what companies/sponsors Farm Dreams should consider partnering with in the future, so please reply below.
In terms of any of the following categories (or more that you think are relevant to this site), who do you buy from at least once per year or so? If you buy from large retailers such as Amazon, don't list that but rather list what PRODUCT BRANDS you prefer.
- gardening, seeds, trees, plants, etc.
- prepping, food storage, survival, etc.
- livestock health, vet, hatcheries, supplies, etc.

I have recently purchased from Annie's Heirloom Seeds. I've also purchased Coconut oil and from Tropical Traditions and I bought Fermented Cod Liver Oil from Green Pastures Products, Inc.
Nearly every thing else we purchase locally buying directly from farmers or growing it ourselves. Clothing is slowly being converted to items I spin, weave and sew myself. I knit an average of a pair of socks a month and they last for many years.

- I look on the local classifieds to find my goats (currently looking for a pig or two and a milk cow)
- We have a GREAT vet who is just nine miles from us and is priced very reasonable
- Also we buy vet supplies at the farm store (IFA).
- Feed I get from the local mill. (Hermansen's)
- fencing, infrastructure, cages, egg cartons, weed control and farm supplies
- People we sell eggs to bring cartons back and have them filled back up.
- Others save cartons for us.
- Recently my husband has been saving "good" pieces out of the chipper pile at the sawmill where he works. Our chicken coop was salvaged from the chipper pile.it is AWESOME!
- We buy fencing from the local farm store (IFA)
- Weed control (my whethered goats)
- food preservation, pantry, etc.
- Bottles I get from estate and yard sales
- Walmart
- or the local grocery store
- I get the food from my own garden and several others who are kind enough to give us their extra
- I also get food to preserve from the local food co-op

- my hubby salvages "good peices" instead of getting his load of fire wood from his work.

- -Pinetree seeds (small packets)
- Fedco seeds and trees
- local greenhouses
- Miller Nurseries (in the NY state Finger Lakes so have cold hardy trees)
- prepping, food storage, survival, etc .- I buy my canning supplies form the local farm market, Mennonite store for lids in bulk, and grocery store.
- livestock health, vet, hatcheries, supplies, etc. -We have 2 local farm stores, Mennonite and non-Mennonite so I can get what I need there
- When needed I have used the local farm store for Cornish X chicks
- A local poultry farm store will sell me some chicks if I preorder
- Welp's hatchery has been good here and they can combine different poultry if you order early enough.
- Fertrell's for minerals-our local Fertrell's dealer is tremendous with suggestions and quick delivery.

- -Tried Kencove-PA company and they have great service, but really prefer Premier products
- Premier for sheep supplies.
- Local Mennonite farm store has a once a year sale, we save up our list for the discount.
- The nearby hardware store (not sure if it is Ace, Service Star or it may have just gone private again is wonderful for nuts, bolts, etc)
- Lee valley Tools has odds and ends especially good for our watering system in the hoophouse.
- food preservation, pantry, etc .-Our local health food store, Freshlife , will order larger quantities and pass along the discount-especially good for our rice.

- -Stockman Grass Farmer-I love the articles, even though we are small
- PASA newsletter and website (Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable agriculture)

- We have our stash of hardwood, accumulated over the years, cut by a friend who has a Wood Miser sawmill, stored in our buildings. For soft wood we have a local sawmill.
- Lowe's for odds and ends.

- We have 2 local shops that will butcher sheep
- We also have 2 other places to butcher beef and pork

We have bought organic heirloom seeds from Botanical Interest which were displayed in our favorite organic grocery market. Otherwise, I would have ordered them from Southern Seed Exchange. We have also bought gardening supplies from the General Store which is an Ace Hardware, Big R, and a local landscaping supply place. We subscribe to Mother Earth News, Hobby Farms, Countryside, and Organic Gardener. We purchase food from several really great farmers markets in towns nearby, and have two organic grocers we frequent as well. After trying raw milk, I decided I would wait to drink it until I was the one cleaning the udders. For now, we drink Organic Valley milk. We try to buy meat and cheeses from local farms as much as possible. Not sure where we'll end up getting our tractor or fencing and fencing supplies from. Wood burning furnace was kumba out of Minnesota. Animals will be purchased locally.

- prepping, food storage: Mylar bags and O2 absorbers from OakTea International (always quick and orders are perfect)
- food preservation, pantry: Tattler lids, Jars I buy at my local grocery store (top shelf so I really had to look)
- publications: Mother Earth News, Grit, Urban Farm
I always try to buy local or from a small business. When my garden isn't supplying me with enough produce I shop at the local Farmer's Market.

- gardening, seeds, trees, plants, etc. I LOVE Baker Creek for seeds, Seed Savers Exchange when BC doesn't have something I need. I am in need of a good fruit tree nursery nearby - organic, heirloom My husband likes Raintree.
- prepping, food storage, survival, etc. & food preservation, pantry, etc. Lehman's is great - often carrying USA-made items and plenty of non-electric items.

Trees: I've ordered fruit trees from Stark Bros. for years - always high quality.
Seeds: I primarily order seeds from Johnny's Select, Territorial, and Baker Creek. I've ordered from Parks and Burpee in the past, but they don't have as many OP seeds as the others, and are rather pricey. I save some of my OP seeds myself, like beans, but corn is too much trouble, so I order corn every few years.
Lumber and building materials: Lowes & Home Depot; local lumber yard when possible
Tractor: Case New Holland
Magazines: Grit, Organic Gardening, Mother Earth News
