Homesteading, Organic Gardening, How to Farm, Preparedness, Self-Reliance
We live in Cincinnati, Ohio and are looking to rent farm land to farm this coming year. Does anyone have any ideas for how to go about this? I have posted to Craig's list but have had no success. Please reply.

Some states have farmers market bulletins or newspapers. Does Ohio?
Permalink Reply by B & B Family Farm on December 18, 2011 at 11:52pm Rick, I feel your pain. I did as well and leased 75 acres in GA. Since then I purchased the land. The leasing route just wasn't for me.
I don't remember all the details about what I read but Joel Salatin wrote about this exact issue in his book "You Can Farm." Do you have a copy of that to review? Good luck in your search....
BTW- I'm Russ Bates from B & B Family Farm, Cave Spring, GA

I've had success with knocking on doors. Determine where you'd like your land to be and start driving around that area looking for pasture that seems unused. When you find something that catches your eye, go to the closest house and ask if it's theirs or if they know. Leave them your name and number and have them also keep a look out for ya. The more people that know you are looking for land in the area the better
