And I got a little carried away   I got 3 boxes yesterday and put 12 Black & Blue Cochin & 8 Welsummer chicken eggs plus 5 Royal Palm turkey eggs in incubator #1 today. I'm still waiting on 6 Blue Orpington & 6 Lavender Orpington chicken eggs, 4 Blue Palm & 2 more Royal Palm turkey eggs, plus 4 Sebastapol & 1 Buff goose eggs this coming week. The goose eggs will go into incubator #2 alone and I will mark the other dozen chicken and 6 turkey eggs to tell them from what is already in incubator #1 for hatch dates unless I can get a third incubator.

It's probably a good thing hubby is very understanding and tolerant of me & my birds - even though the Sebastipols are for him. He has missed his buddy "Baby" for the past year and a half since the Great Horned Owl got her and the Pilgrim "Penelope" that we had given to us just isn't the same talkative "puppy dog" that Baby was, she followed him everywhere just "talking" up a storm to him the whole time he was doing anything she would even follow him inside the garage and the furnace room so she could supervise what he was doing.

I tried hatching Sebastapols last year but they were too big for the Little Giant incubator and hit on the heating element and by the time hubby was able to get me a Hov-abator it was too late and none of them survived. I did have better luck with the turkey eggs and hatched 3 of 5 then had a raccoon get all 3 poults when they went outside to the brooder pen. We're going to build a better bigger outside brooder pen this year so the samething doesn't happen again.
