I am in the process of moving and setting up my new homestead. In the process I have reclaimed about 1.5 acres of mountain grass. Took me 7 hours with a brush hog, but it is now knocked down and ready to be collected. I have been looking at chain link fence drag rakes, but seem that the majority of the time they are used to level or smooth land. Anyone used these to collect grass? I need this land clear-ish for a farm celebration on the 4th of July, It was also just way too tall for me to put the new chicken tractor down on it. They would have been lost in this stuff! They will like the 4-5 inch tall stuff much better!

I have access to various materials, am fairly well versed in metal work and have access to a full carpenter shop, and a few rolls of various fencing.

Thank you in advance!

So I tried it. I cut about a 6'x6' piece of standard chain link fence, weighted the front, back and middle down with some 4x4's and bricks and drug the yard post mow. I got collection rolls, but nothing close to grass clipping collection... So I raked the thing by hand. After all that was done I am back to a few 4x4's and a piece of chain link fence and a nasty blister.

Anyone have something that has worked for something like this in the past?
