Homesteading, Organic Gardening, How to Farm, Preparedness, Self-Reliance
Today was the day I picked up 7 hens from a local farmer for 20 bucks. Full grown free ranging gold stars and long island reds a few of each. I have delt with bantoms in the in the past about 10 years ago. I love these new chickens I have though they are all great colors and I got them home in their new area after a hour drive almost and two of them layed eggs with in a hour of being in their new place. 1 egg didnt make it but the other one was large and a perfect brown color.
It's funny I dont own a farm I don't even live in the country yet. You might be starting to think well then how does he have that many chickens. Well I have a aunt that has a hobby farm about 20minutes from were I live and she is a nice person and is letting me use some of her land for animals untill I can sell my house and what not and get out of the city life style. If I get some picks I will for sure post them up for all of you to see my girls.
