Homesteading, Organic Gardening, How to Farm, Preparedness, Self-Reliance
I've been reading this for a few years now but it had gotten very hard to find locally the past few issues so I finally decided to subscribe. I ordered what they call the whole shebang, it's a 2 year subscription, 16 years of anthologies, and the booklets they offer.
Got the box today with the anthologies and the booklets and can't wait to get reading! There are 3 different books on self reliance - one is about stocking your pantry, one on foraging, and a nice spiral bound cookbook with most (if not all) of the recipes that have appeared in the magazine over the years and a few others that I haven't really taken a close look at yet.
I had also ordered the last 2 issues of the magazine where I hadn't been able to buy them and both of those were in there as well, the current issue is devoted to preparedness.

Enjoy!
Permalink Reply by Karen Paro on February 11, 2012 at 5:35pm Dusty that was why I ordered the whole shebang so I could get my hands on the anthologies, The other one I get a lot of info out of is Backhome.
I do still read MEN, Grit, & Countryside more to have something to read than anything, MEN seems to have gotten way leftwing of late, so much so that there are letters to the editor every issue canceling their subscriptions.

Have always wanted to look at the book about stocking your pantry and the cookbook. The foraging book, meh...not my thing. Enjoy all your reading, it will be interesting to say the least. Like I said, I am jealous!
I have been debating this purchase for a few months. Glad to see you felt it was worth it, i'll probably be ordering in a few months.

Just reading for an hour or so an evening while listening to TV I'm already half way thru the first 2 years and looking forward to getting into the rest.
